Description
Manufacturer’s Description:
“The aft cockpit 440 possesses all the exemplary qualities that have earned Island Packet a worldwide reputation as the leader of cruising boat design and construction. Naval architect Bob Johnson and the Island Packet design team have created the 440 by combining the superior comfort, ease of use, seakeeping, and safety attributes that are the hallmark of every Island Packet, along with innovative new features and stunning good looks that will further reinforce Island Packet’s position as America’s Cruising Yacht Leader.”
“Nowhere to Be”:
This immaculate, turn-key Island Packet 440 has just completed a 2-year sabbatical throughout the Bahamas and the US East Coast with her current owners, and she is ready for more! Sought after for their spacious interior layout, quality construction, and cruising capabilities, Island Packet 440s are perfect for a cruising family or couple and are highly sought after in the Island Packet community. The 440 was designed by the legendary Bob Johnson to replace the 420. The results are a higher performing yacht (longer waterline, larger sail area), with new conveniences such as a forward-facing chart table that opens the user up to the salon living area.

Exterior:
Walking up to her, you can immediately see how well cared for she is and has been in the past. Her gelcoat and teak are shiny and spotless, as well as her stainless. Enclosed by a Bimini and dodger (both in good condition!) her cockpit is spacious and comfortable, with room to stretch out on overnighters and a foldout table for Happy Hour. She has a sugar-scoop style transom. SS Davits and solar panels are above. Tender and outboard are negotiable. She has a BRAND NEW (2024) staysail and genoa, a recently inspected Main with a new clew cover, and standing and running rigging (new running rigging 2022) in excellent condition. Island Packet 440s have grade 316L chainplates and are part of the new generation Island Packets- built in a time where the highest grade of stainless was used and therefore DO NOT have the chainplate issues that the older models sometimes have. A recent (2022) spotless standing rigging inspection by Mack Sails is available for serious buyers. For further reading on IP chainplates click here: Blogs and Newsletters – Island-Packet-Ancestry
Interior:
Island Packets have beautiful woodwork and accents throughout the interior- and “Nowhere to Be’s is shiny and generally free of wear and tear, giving her the feel of a much newer boat.
As you come down the companionway, there is a gorgeous galley to starboard with plenty of counter space to prep meals, a force 10 stove, and a Frigoboat fridge/freezer.
“Nowhere to Be”s salon space is open and inviting, with settees midship, both port and starboard. The table expands to accommodate dinner guests and serves as a double berth by lowering it and pulling out the starboard settee, and it can also fold up into the wall for extra space if desired. To starboard, a forward-facing chart table sits between the galley and settee, with a spacious working area that is perfect for a home office setup when the charts aren't out. Electric panels are to starboard of the chart table.
To port, her aft stateroom has plenty of light and storage space. The aft head with separate shower is accessible through the stateroom as well as the main salon area.
Her forward stateroom has a comfortable double bed to starboard as well as a couch and ample storage to port. Moving to the bow area- the forward head is airy and well ventilated, with a luxuriously spacious separate shower.
"Nowhere to be" is available for showing at Marineland Marina, Marineland, FL. Please schedule in advance!

Carolyn grew up living aboard her familyâs 47â GulfStar Sailmaster, cruising up and down the East Coast and through the Bahamas for nearly twenty years. Shew crewed on various boats, detailed boats, and worked at a prominent marina in St. Augustine, FL, while working her way through college. She worked her way up to management at the marina and was a loyal employee for over 15 years. Talking to the boaters of all types as they transited the ICW and stopped at the marina, was one of the highlights of her job, but they got to take off and head to places more tropical while she was stuck in St. Augustine.
Carolyn is a fine arts graduate from Flagler College, an artist, yogi, and an avid surfer and guitar player. She travels the world to various surfing destinations whenever she can and enjoys traveling solo.
After the marina, Carolyn worked for a local recruiting firm and then Solar Stik as an administrative assistant. She has also taught yoga at various venues around St. Augustine. She brings her organizational and logistical skills with her to Sunshine Cruising Yachts, and is very excited to be working on the water again. She lives with her husband and two boys as well as various animals (mainly cats and guinea pigs) in St. Augustine.
Be careful! Her enthusiasm is contagious!
, `testimonial` ="Carolyn is the boat broker to work with!
My wife and I used her to sell our 38ft sailboat and she was awesome to work with. We had the boat in Georgia while we lived in Idaho and she was located in Florida and she went out of her way to help when things needed to get done on the boat.
I would recommend her to absolutely anyone that is looking to sell or buy a boat. An absolute pleasure to work with "- Josh
