Description
Pirouette’s History: This vintage beauty, Pirouette, has been lovingly refitted. She is a true classic and she’s ready to set sail!
Pirouette is looking for new owners to enjoy her as a cruiser-racer. She would also be the perfect yacht for island hopping cruisers wishing to explore, enjoying sunsets and cocktails from her deck during their Caribbean adventure. She is priced to sell and her quality build will truly stand out amongst all that plastic out there!
Her beginnings were with the Munroe family of Coconut Grove Florida. Her original build plans, photos of her restoration in 2012, and all her records come with the boat. She was originally strip plank built by Miami Shipbuilding Co., (PT boat builders), bead and cove 1.75" x 2" mahogany glued, and bronze nailed. Originally, she had polyester skin but now has new modern epoxy skin. Her Swing centerboard and long overhangs distinguish her as a fast classic and her brightwork (epoxy glued mahogany on cabin sides and transom) are reminders of a bygone era. The current owner, a boat builder himself, has lovingly given her all the attention to detail she deserves, right down to modern Awlwood MA finishes. She has been boat builder owned for the past 20+ years.
Interior & Exterior
Pirouette’s layout includes a Captains bunk midship, V-berth forward, and settee that can convert to a large bed. She is able to sleep 6 comfortably. The Galley along starboard side is followed by a quarter berth if needed. To the opposite side aft is the head. Two steps down into her cabin makes her interior a breeze to access. She has a low, dry cockpit and a clipper bow with trail boards. Two bronze ballerinas dance at each side of her hull at the bow sprit.

Carolyn grew up living aboard her familyâs 47â GulfStar Sailmaster, cruising up and down the East Coast and through the Bahamas for nearly twenty years. Shew crewed on various boats, detailed boats, and worked at a prominent marina in St. Augustine, FL, while working her way through college. She worked her way up to management at the marina and was a loyal employee for over 15 years. Talking to the boaters of all types as they transited the ICW and stopped at the marina, was one of the highlights of her job, but they got to take off and head to places more tropical while she was stuck in St. Augustine.
Carolyn is a fine arts graduate from Flagler College, an artist, yogi, and an avid surfer and guitar player. She travels the world to various surfing destinations whenever she can and enjoys traveling solo.
After the marina, Carolyn worked for a local recruiting firm and then Solar Stik as an administrative assistant. She has also taught yoga at various venues around St. Augustine. She brings her organizational and logistical skills with her to Sunshine Cruising Yachts, and is very excited to be working on the water again. She lives with her husband and two boys as well as various animals (mainly cats and guinea pigs) in St. Augustine.
Be careful! Her enthusiasm is contagious!

"Carolyn is the boat broker to work with!
My wife and I used her to sell our 38ft sailboat and she was awesome to work with. We had the boat in Georgia while we lived in Idaho and she was located in Florida and she went out of her way to help when things needed to get done on the boat.
I would recommend her to absolutely anyone that is looking to sell or buy a boat. An absolute pleasure to work with "- Josh
