Description
Fine example of a well maintained Bristol 29.9. Sellers have lived aboard Sea Otter for several years. They re-powered this Bristol with a Universal 26. They installed a Dometic 12K reverse cycle heat and ac in 2021 and new refrigeration in 2023. All interior and exterior teak has recently been varnished and the deck painted. This Bristol has stainless steel lifelines.
Enter the roomy cockpit with lots of storage in 3 oversized lazzarettes. Center aft lazzarette has the emergency tiller. Wheel steering with autopilot and Garmin GPS/Chartplotter. Enter through the companionable door. To port aft is the quarter berth. Moving forward to port is the navigation station. At the navigation station is the Dual stereo with CD player and Standard Horizon VHF radio.Nextbforward tisbthe port setee and drop leaf table. To starboard just inside the companionwaybis the galley with Origo 3000 alcohol cook top and refrigerator. New 110v electrical candles for outlets and AC. Forward of the galley to starboard is the starboard settee. Both settees have storage below and behind. Move forward to port is the head with a toilet that has never been used since installation a few years ago. To starboard is a closet. Move forward to the well appointed v-berth. All ports have been replaced and hatches have custom made screens. Three 12v fans throughout. This is a very nice under 30' liveaboard that will definitely surprise you. Melanie earned her US Coast Guard 100 Ton Master Captainsâ License before she got her driversâ license. She grew up living aboard her familyâs 47â GulfStar Sailmaster, cruising up and down the East Coast and through the Bahamas for nearly twenty years. Melanie captained and crewed on various boats while working her way through college, then bought and lived aboard her first sailboat, Short Story, a 1969 Columbia 28, while attending graduate school in North Miami. Sheâs owned many boats since then. She is also an author (her books include memoirs Boat Girl and Boat Kid), contributor to Cruising World (her Short Story column ran in the magazine from 2006 to 2009) and BoatUS magazines, a freelance editor, and has worked over the years as everything from boat detailer to college professor to educational administrator. Her father, maritime author Tom Neale, instilled in her a love of sailing, writing, perusing boat listings, hard work, and repairing marine diesel engines. Melanie currently cruises the local waters of St. Augustine, FL, on various boats with her daughter, Maryann. She is a solo sailor and full-time single parent.
