Joe O' Sullivan
Yacht Sales

Joe has been drawn to the water all his life.  He grew up in Ireland and moved to the US in 1994.  As a kid in Ireland, he wind-surfed and kayaked, and later got into scuba diving. He became a scuba diving instructor in 2000. Although he had been around sailboats for years, the sailing bug was really planted in 1994 when he heard stories from a friend sailing the Caribbean and island hopping with a captained charter.  In 2005, he bought his first boat for $500 and had it for about a year. Later, in 2008 he bought a Boston Whaler to buzz around the Chesapeake Bay and then in 2009, bought his first sailboat, a 1987 Catalina 22.  In 2012 he started living aboard and since then has lived aboard a 1975 C&C 26, a 1977 Hunter 30, and a 1979 Irwin 37 center cockpit ketch rig.  He currently lives aboard a 1981 Morgan Out Island 41, which also doubles as his pet project and his "Maritime Dream."

Joe holds a Bachelor of Engineering in civil engineering from University College Cork in Ireland and a Master of Engineering in ocean engineering from University of California at Berkeley.  In Jan 2019, he retired from the US Navy after 24 years of service.

Joe is looking forward to the opportunity to match you up with a boat that will fulfill your sailing or boating dreams.  Joe has a passion for boats and boat life, so whether you plan to sail away to cruise the world or just go on weekend sails in your local waters, he will be able to share some great insights and ensure that you have considered all or the opportunities available to you.
